125 years ago the Buffalo Soldiers, an all-Black regiment of U.S. soldiers stationed at Ft. Missoula, Montana, rode single-speed bikes 1,900 miles to St. Louis, Missouri over 41 days. Demystifying bikes and allowing people to gain confidence in basic bike mechanics and bikepacking are only a couple of things SITW strives for.
